iOS developers who create apps for Apple’s iOS devices will be rewarded with bitcoin as part of the developer account program, the company announced today.
Developers will be asked to provide their email address and a code to sign up for an account in order to be paid for the work they create.
The new feature is intended to make it easier for iOS developers to get a cut of Apple’s revenues, as they have to provide a credit card number and a payment confirmation code to be accepted into the developer program.
Apple is currently working on ways to make this more convenient for developers, but it’s not clear if this is a standard feature of the program or if it’s something that Apple will offer as a default.
Apple is expected to roll out developer accounts in the coming weeks, but at the moment developers are only offered the option to register with the company and use its services.
