A young man in Brooklyn was arrested and charged with the sexual assault of a woman after allegedly attacking her while she was sleeping in a parking garage.
According to the New York Post, the arrest happened Sunday, when an officer found the 22-year-old man sitting in his car in front of a vacant apartment complex.
The victim told police that he and the man had a sexual relationship before the assault.
The woman was able to get out of the car and called 911.
When the victim arrived, he was sitting in the driver’s seat of his car and the woman, who he did not know, was asleep in the backseat.
The woman told police she was asleep when the assault happened, and when she woke up, she found the man lying on top of her.
The officer asked the man, who was wearing a dark blue hoodie and black pants, to get on the ground and handcuffed him, police said.
He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment, where he was later arrested and booked into the Queens County Jail.
According of the NYPD, he is the third man to be arrested for the same incident this year.
He has also been charged with rape and lewdness, as well as harassment and false imprisonment.
The New York City Police Department’s Internal Affairs Bureau is handling the case.
